On the heels of the hot selling Mumm-Ra the Ever Living Staction Figure, Action Figure Xpress releases a special edition Mumm-Ra Retro Colors Variant Figure by Icon Heroes, LLC.

Honolulu, HI, September 10, 2011 –(PR.com)– Limited to 250 pieces worldwide, this special paint scheme pays homage to the vintage Mumm-Ra action figure of the 1980’s. Action Figure Xpress will premier the figure at Power-con / Thundercon at Four Points by Sheraton LAX, booth # 35, on September 24-25, 2011.

Like the regular edition, the figure is designed to depict the villain’s ferocity with burning eyes, a billowing cape and draping bandages and measures 9”h x 11”w x 2.5”d on base. The gate-fold window box packaging is fit for any collector, featuring a special diorama insert of Mumm-Ra’s Tomb Fortress. What is rare is the variant paint scheme.

“Many collectors, like me, had the older Thundercats figures. With the vintage paint scheme of the livid green skin, fiery red helmet, and large Mumm-Ra insignia; we tried to pay tribute to the 1980’s,” said Patrick Wang, president, Action Figure Xpress. “Because this retro figure is extremely limited and made for the Thundercats’ diehards, what better place to release these than the 1st Power-Con / Thundercon.”

As a special bonus, every Mumm-Ra Retro staction figure purchased at Power-con / Thundercon will come with an exclusive free gift – the Ma-Mutt staction figure, measuring 3.5”h x 1.5”w x 2.5”d on base. The Mumm-Ra Retro and Ma-Mutt companion staction figure set will be available for $50 exclusively at the Action Figure Xpress booth #35. A limited number will be available on September 26, 2011 at shopafx.com.

Great looking exclusive. I wasn't at all interested in the figure, but this paint-job is definitely making it tempting. If I was going, there would be no question in my mind that I would get him.
