Thundercats Episode 8 – The Duelist and The Drifter is set to air tomorrow on Cartoon Network at 8:30 PM. We now have 2 video previews and some HD screen caps of the upcoming ep for you. Description below, images after the break!
While traveling through a village built on swordsmanship, Lion-O’s cockiness loses him the Sword of Omens to the Duelist, a villainous sword-collector.
With the help of the listless Drifter, Lion-O must get it back.

The Thundercats Facebook Page has put up a cool little video. the video is a spotlight on the Sword Of Omens. The producers Michael Jelenic and Ethan Spaulding talk about the sword, it’s powers and what to expect in upcoming episodes.
Forum member Skylynx has shared with us that the new Thundercats series and toys will be coming to Germany. Both the toys and the series are scheduled for the second half of 2012 according to Bandai Germany. More info as it becomes available.
Forum member Panthro UK has provided us with info regarding the UK premiere of the Thundercats 2011 cartoon. The show will debut on Saturday the 10th September at 11:00 AM on Cartoon Network; Virgin Channel 704 and Sky Channel 601.
Thundercats Episode 7 -Legacy was yet ANOTHER awesome episode of this epic series in the making. While this took place in the past – the action was full of tech, multiple species, and even some robo-armor sword battles in space! Attached to this story are over 200 screen captures from the episode!

Lion-O travels into the Book of Omens to live out his ancestor’s past as Leo, who led the rebellion against Mumm-Ra millenia ago. The origin of the stones and the cat’s relationship to Mumm-Ra and the other animals is finally revealed!

MTV Geek has an interview with Thundercats 2011 Designer Dan Norton. Along with the interview are looks at some of his designs. Included is our first look at the new Jackalman! In the interview, Norton talks about his design influences, his approach and what he’s looking to bring to the young series.
“When I’m looking for reference, I pull a lot from nature: national monuments, photography, live photos—I mean really, there’s a lot of nature that’s already impressive. So just going into an entirety of being a fan of all sorts of fantasy shows, cartoons, movies—you know, one of my favorite movies was Conan the Barbarian. There’s just so many different cartoons, more than I could probably name. I was a big fan of Escaflowne, Record of Lodoss War, all of those rich, fantasy cartoons. Even the old school Rankin Bass [movie] The Last Unicorn and Lord of the Rings, you know, just seeing that and feeding on it for so many years and then seeing people pushing the limit in other shows—you just take what inspires you and add your own edge to it.”
