Because every hero needs a place to unwind, Icon Heroes created the museum replica of the Cats Lair. Made of heavy weight polystone, this environment statue measures a massive 7.9” wide x 11” deep x 9.5” tall and weighs approximately 6 pounds. A perfect backdrop for your Thundercats station figures, this environment is detailed with towering archways, mechanical like claws, and blazing red cat eyes. The Cats Lair is the pivotal training ground, operations base, and sleeping quarters for the Thundercats. Thundercats musical composer Kevin Kliesch was nominated for an Annie Award. His nomination was for Best Music in a Television Production. Unfortunately he lost out to Grace Potter and Michael Giacchino for “Prep & Landing: Naughty vs. Nice” (BOO!).

It’s great to see the excellent music for this series get some recognition. Though he didn’t win (again BOOOOO!), Thundercats.ws would like to congratulate Mr. Kliesch on the nomination.

Warner Bros. has sent along new clips and images for Thundercats Episode 14 – New Alliances.

The Thundercats go on the offensive taking down Mumm-Ra’s lizard army piece by piece. Lion-O appeals to the soldiers to turn against their overlord, but Mumm-Ra won’t see his army crushed so easily. He tasks Slithe with recruiting two new and vicious Generals — Addicus and Kaynar — to retaliate against the cats. Meanwhile, the Robear Berbils make Panthro a new set of robotic arms and soop up the Thundertank.

Thundercats returns on an all new day and time. Episode 14 hits Saturday, March 24 at 9:30 AM EST.

Kat Nicholson, a comic colorist in the UK has posted on her DeviantArt Page that she is currently coloring a new Thundercats comic for a UK release! The comic will be based on the Modern Thundercats and is being drawn by artist Cosmo White.

NEW PROJECT – THUNDERCATS Comic!
As a reward to those of you who will bother to read this far (I know most wont! 😉 ) … remember that new project I alluded to but couldn’t give any more details on? … well… I can tell you what it is now… – I’ve been colouring the new Thundercats comic that’s out at the end of the month! It’s drawn by the amazing Cosmo White and the artwork’s looking really lush (if I do say so myself!) – it follows original stories featuring Lion-o and the gang from the new cartoon series (which I’m a huge fan of!) … I’m really excited to be working on it and I’ll show you a preview as soon as I’m able to! 😀

THUNDERCATS
Saturdays at 9:30 a.m. (ET, PT)
An epic, all new reimagining of the classic 1980s animated series, ThunderCats tells the story of a hero’s journey to fulfill his ultimate destiny. On Third Earth, the kingdom of Thundera is being threatened by the evil sorcerer Mumm-Ra, and Lion-O, the young heir to the throne, embarks on a great quest to take his rightful place as king. The unlikely champion must work with his faithful comrades Tygra, Cheetara, Panthro, WilyKit, WilyKat, and his loyal pet, Snarf — who join him on his journey — to save their world from darkness.

• Saturday, March 24: “New Alliances” – The Thundercats go on the offensive taking down Mumm-Ra’s lizard army piece by piece. • Saturday, March 31: “The Trials of Lion-O Pt. 1” – Mumm-Ra’s generals ambush and, while the other cats are captured, Lion-O falls to his death. Thanks to the Spirit Stone, he encounters Jaga in the Astral Plane and is given a second chance at life. If he is able to pass a series of trials that pit him against each of his teammates, he can win back his life and save the other cats. First up are Kit and Kat, followed by Cheetara. But the clock is ticking because Mumm-Ra has the Sword of Omens!

In my personal opinion, one of the biggest missed opportunities of 2011’s Thundercats relaunch was the lack of an accompanying video game. With it’s mix of melee weaponry as well as firearms, Thundercats holds the potential for a fantastic video game.

So, with the major slow down in news, let’s have some fun discussion. What would YOU want from a Thundercats video game? Would it be an old school brawler akin to the Konami arcade games of the 90’s? Would you want a huge open world game? How about a linear adventure game ala God of War?

Icon Heroes has updated their site. They have announced that their upcoming Thundercats Staction Figure Cats’ Lair Statue has shipped from China. It should be hitting North american shores by the second week of March. Shortly after that, it should begin shipping out to those who ordered it.
