Thundercats News on Toyark.com

Posted on February 24, 2016 at 12:53 pm by Joe Moore under Site Updates

Thundercats Wallpaper 1 HD 1299385920

Just a quick update for all the Thunder-fans out there. For the time being, Thundercats.ws will remain an archive only site, dedicated, mainly, to the short lived Thundercats revival from 2011. But that doesn’t mean we’re giving up on the brand. Not in the least. For now, all Thundercats to news will be posted on our sister site; Toyark.com. You can simply bookmark the Thundercats Toy News on Toyark link to keep up with the latest happenings.

So what’s going to happen to this site? For now, it’s going to stay as is. You’ll still find all the old reviews and HD screen caps from Thundercats 2011, the toy galleries and such. Will we ever bring the site back? I’d love to say yes. If there was ever a full fledged return to TV, with a new cartoon, and new retail toy line; Or if WB ever got a Thundercats film off the ground somehow, then the chance of us reviving the site would increase 100 fold.

So thank you for stopping by. Visit us on Toyark.com to chat Thundercats and keep up with the latest toy news.

Check Out The All New Thundercats.ws

Posted on December 10, 2013 at 7:45 pm by Joe Moore under Site Updates

Thundercats.ws is relaunching with an all new look, new functionality and a new purpose. We’ve taken cues from our updated Toyark.com look and functionality, and applied them to Thundercats.ws. When we originally launched Thundercats.ws, we did so with the hope of having a spot to talk about the Thundercats 2011 series and toys. A fresh site with the same functionality you’ve come to expect from our entire network. Unfortunately, neither the series or the toy line struck the right cord with fans. Any worthwhile news slowed to an absolute crawl. So what is there to do?

We decided to close down the dedicated forums for right now. There’s just not enough Thundercats content coming to justify keeping it up. So Thundercats discussion has been moved over to our sister site Toyark.com. However, the site is being repositioned to keep up with any and all news we can come across. Funko is putting out some amazing looking Thundercats Pop! Vinyl Figures, Icon Heroes is mass releasing the last set of Thundercats Minimates and they have more items in the pipeline. The Mezco Mega Scale Cheetara is also now in stores, and we’re hoping they finish up the line by getting us the much needed Tygra, Slithe, Monkian, Jackalman and more.

When a new show and/or toy line launches, we’ll be right there covering it full force. So please enjoy the new look, have fun browsing through our Toy Galleries, Episode Reviews, Screen Caps and more. Also, check out the newly relaunched Toku Nation, featuring a massive overhaul, new look and a newly launched podcast.

Update On Thundercats.ws

Posted on January 25, 2013 at 2:45 pm by Joe Moore under Site Updates

It’s been a while since we’ve updated the site. With the death of the Thundercats 2011 series and toy line, coupled with trickling news and the holidays, we’ve slipped on the news a bit. Thankfully, that isn’t going to last much longer. Over the coming days and weeks you may notice some changes in both the look and structure of the site.

We’ll be doing a bit of Winter clean-up and streamlining. We apologize for the lack of updates. With great companies like Mezco (they’re bringing us a Mega Scale Cheetara figure) and Icon Heroes (those series 3 Thundercats Minimates look great) still pumping out great stuff, there’s sure to be some killer stuff for us in 2013. So fret not, and we look forward to gettign back to the line we all love…Thundercats!

Editorial/Rant: Can and Should Thundercats Be Saved?

Posted on June 8, 2012 at 11:55 am by Joe Moore under Site Updates

Thundercats is at a cross roads right now. The brand is barely holding on, the show may not return and the toys have seen sparse shelf space and extremely poor distribution. Non-toy merchandise has seen an extremely slow trickle, with very little in the way to excite fans and kids. So when I ask, “Should Thundercats Be Saved?”, I solely mean this particular iteration of the classic franchise and not the brand as a whole.

Now, don’t get me wrong here…Thundercats, as a brand, can be a very powerful name. Thundercats (as a brand) can and should be in the market. But only if handled correctly; With respect by all involved, a dedicated master toy license holder willing to keep the line fresh and in people’s minds.

I’m going to take a look at 5 reasons why this current iteration absolutely should be saved and should continue on. But I’m also going to list 5 reasons why it might be best to cut their losses and start over. Read on to see what I’ve come up with.
