Tonight brought us the third episode of the Thundercats. Lion-O and crew mourn the loss of their king, as well as their people. With Lion-O determined to find and destroy Mumm-Ra, he sets the team on a course to find him, forgoing the quest for the Book of Omens.

The new Thundercats had extremely large shoes to fill. The original show is beloved by those who grew up in the 80’s, and there are more good episodes than bad, especially when compared to other shows from the era. But, unlike many of the more popular shows from the 80’s, Thundercats has lied dormant in a sea of legal red tape and false starts.
The first two episodes of the new Thundercats cartoon has premiered. It had something for fans old and new, and set up a potentially epic story for the first season. But, was it worth the wait? Was it as good as the trailers and clips led us to believe?

Thanks to the WB’s Comic Con page, we have some new info on a contest and giveaway planned for San Diego Comic Con.
They have commissioned one life sized replica of the Sword of Omens from the new Thundercats television show. That will be given away to one lucky fan at SDCC.
They will also be giving away foam versions of the replica on Friday and Sunday at the Warner Brothers booth.

Now this is something really great to see. Thundercon and Powercon are teaming up for a mega-sized toy show dedicated to all things Thundercats, Masters of the Universe and She-Ra. The dual show is being held September 24th and 25th in Los Angeles, California. The shows will be located at the Four Points at LAX airport. There is a slew of MOTU talent already announced, and they have just announced that Larry Kenney, the original voice of Lion-O and the new voice of King Claudus, will be a guest.

Voice Actor Larry Kenney has been announced as the voice of Claudus in the upcoming 2011 ThunderCats Animation Series. Voice Actor Larry Kenney is best know for his role as Lion-O in the original 80’s ThunderCats cartoon series. Claudus was the previous keep of the Sword of Omens and Lion-O’s father. Although his vision was taken in battle he did not let his blindness impede his sons rescue attempt. After staying behind on Thundera, Claudus was captured by the Shadowmaster, and finally saved by his son Lion-O years later. In the new 2011 ThunderCats Animation Series, the news surrounding Claudis has major Spoilers Attached.
